Golf is more than a game. For some it is a way of life that can be carried on well into one's 80s. That is not to say all senior citizens golf well, but that is not the point. While a popular sport, it is hardly an aerobic activity. But the friendly fellowship and competition coupled with the inspiring outdoor settings in which the game is played contribute to a healthy mind and body, which is the point. After a hiatus of four years I recently returned to golf because it is one of the few physical activities in which I can still participate. It is and will continue to be an important part of my life. I have learned the secret to enjoyment of a physical activity I do not perform very well. I do not keep score. It works for me. The score is not the point; it is the game and those few good shots that one savors.
